The idea of putting the items up for auction was wanted by Mary Austinbosom friend of the legendary frontman of Queen and thus far custodian of his legacy. For the occasion, Sotheby’s has “recreated” the London home of Mercury to display hundreds of objects

According to estimates, the collection should yield overall between £6 and £10 million from the sale. The objects have been divided and will be auctioned in six sessions

There are stage costumes, such as sequin jumpsuits, glitter shoes, or the replica of St. Edward’s crown in synthetic fur, red velvet and rhinestones worn during Queen’s last world tour in the 1980s with Mercury’s unique and legendary voice still present
