For the development of the authorized application, the expenditure of 500 thousand euros for 2023 and 100 thousand euros from 2024
The Mef “develops and makes available free of charge” an App “that allows consultation of the average prices” of fuel. This is foreseen by the government amendment al Legislative decree on the transparency of fuel prices. For the development of the application, the government authorizes the expenditure of 500 thousand euros for 2023 and 100 thousand euros starting from 2024.
The amendment specifies that the communication of prices concerns operators “on the non-motorway network” and “motorway” with “weekly frequency even regardless of variations”. The merchants, it is expected, “display with adequate evidence the billboards showing the arithmetic mean of the prices”. The amendment provides for penalties from 200 to 2 thousand euros and suspension of the activity from 1 day to up to 30 days maximum in case of recurrence. The Price Guarantor, among other things, “prepares a quarterly report on the trend of average prices”.
