Howard Ross and the tribute to Lucio Fulci
The event, with free entry, upon reservation, will pay homage to the master of terror during this third event Lucio Fulcidirector of authentic masterpieces appreciated all over the world such as the Death Trilogy (Fear in the city of the living dead…The afterlife, That villa next to the cemetery), You don’t torture a little duck, Seven notes in black, Zombies 2, A cat in the brain And… The New York Ripper. And it is precisely through this last bloody title that the festival will pay homage to the cult director, with a special screening: for the first time on the big screen, at GIALLO BERICO, the full and restored version of the film, which arrived in Italy thanks to Rustblade Records.

Remember the disturbing Mikos Scellenda, the three-fingered man who terrified audiences around the world in The New York Ripper? On February 17, after the screening, Ross will meet the audience of GIALLO BERIC.
Between Pupi Avati and the Po Valley Gothic
But the homages to our home cinema don’t end here. After the opening screening of the new disturbing short film by Paola Settimini, Only for youwritten by screenwriter Antonio Tentori (A cat in the brain, Demon, Frankenstein 2000, Dracula 3D), guest in the two previous editions, and with the music of Claudio Simonetti (Goblin, Daemonia), GIALLO BERICO will pay homage to another great master of Italian thrills during the new edition: Pupi Avati.
“𝗚𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗢 𝗣𝗔𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗢”: this is how the director of The House with Laughing Windows (1976), defined his exploration of horror-thriller. It is in that strip of the Po Valley, precisely, on the border with Veneto, where modernity has failed to predominate over nature and where time seems to have stopped, that everything originated. An atavistic terror, profound and linked to the sinister figure of Buono Legnani, “the Painter of Agonies”. But the cruel and disturbing character of The house with windows who laugh Is it pure fiction or did he really exist? What lies behind the fog of those places that have become terrifying sets? The documentary film investigates this and much more PADAN GOTHICwritten and directed by Roberto Leggio and Gabriele Grotto, who will meet the audience in the theater after the screening.
In memory of Aldo Lado
The third edition, however, is dedicated to Aldo Ladoa prolific director who has left his mark in the crime genre with titles such as The Night Court of the Glass Dolls, Who saw her die? And The last train of the night, recently passed away. To remember him, on the occasion of GIALLO BERICO, the exhibition will be exhibited for the first time, curated by Alessandro Zito, which traces his entire and intense activity as a filmmaker and writer through photographic and collectible material.
From the Scream saga to the cinema of ANDRZEJ ZUŁAWSKI
Space, obviously, as per tradition at SHATTER, also for books. For the “THILLFUL READINGS” section, the event will host the presentation of the volume, written by Alessandro Romano, “ANDRZEJ ZUŁAWSKI – the films of a writer-filmmaker”. The essay dedicated to the Polish director author of Possession today it represents a unicum in the world publishing panorama: it is in fact the first essay to retrace the entire career of the filmmaker-writer.
Another volume from the SHATTER catalog will be presented in the “BLOOD RED INK” section: this is the recent publication by the Vicenza publishing house “SCREAM – Guide to the cult teen slasher saga” by Nico Parente and Roberto Lasagna, with the participation of Ilaria Lando.
Scream Since its debut it has left a profound mark on thriller/horror cinema, with Wes Craven who, based on a story and screenplay by Kevin Williamson, enjoys playing with the same rules and peculiar dynamics of the genre. The first chapter (1996) is a quotationist anthology that disseminates horror homages, starting a saga, between successful and unsuccessful chapters, which still sees Ghostface invade the big screen today, not without a successful television transposition. And the first successful chapter of the slasher saga, directed by Wes Craven, and starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan and Drew Barrymore will be the title on which the curtain will fall on the third edition of BERIC YELLOW.
The event, with free entry and with the patronage of the Municipality of Barbarano Mossano, will begin at 4.00 pm.
The artistic direction of “GIALLO BERICO” is by Nico Parente.
