Gladiator 2, added more cast members

Gladiator 2, the sequel to the famous film by Ridley Scott, has finally closed its cast. Addition confirmed May Calamawy (Moon Knight), Peter Mensah (avatars) e Matt Lucas (Bridesmaids), as well as that of Derek Jacobi, who will reprise his role from the 2000 blockbuster. And that’s not all yet. Apparently, in fact, the film will arrive at the cinema with an absolutely stellar cast, well able to meet the expectations of the public.

A sensational cast

After the Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan dropped out of negotiations to join the cast, is now the star of Kraven the Hunter And The White Lotus Fred Hechinger to be in negotiation to hire the role of Emperor Geta.The new additions join an already star-studded cast led by the Oscar nominee Paul Mescal and two-time Academy Award winner Denzel Washington. Alongside them too Joseph Quinnwho will play the emperor Caracalla, and Pedro Pascalthe actor of Mentalist And Law & Order in talks with the production for a role that still remains secret.

The sequel to Gladiator

Still no details released from Paramount on Gladiator 2despite the sequel’s release date being set at November 22, 2024. The expectations of the public and critics, as you can imagine, are very high, especially considering that Ridley Scott’s first film proved to be an incredible success, grossing $460 million at the box office and winning five Academy Awardsincluding Best Picture. The film, as everyone knows, sees Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius, a Roman soldier forced into slavery who swears vengeance on Commodus, masterfully played by Joaquin Phoenix.

But since Maximus dies at the end of de Gladiatorthe sequel will be all about Lucius, the love child of Maximus, Lucilla, played by Connie Nielsen, who also reprises his role in the sequel. The screenplay will be written by David Scarpa, with direction once again going to Rdiley Scott, who will produce with Michael Pruss. Beyond these news, however, nothing is known yet Gladiator 2. We should therefore wait until 2024 before we really know what surprises Scott has in store for us.
