The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills hosted the 80th Annual Awards Ceremony golden globe (DISCOVER ALL THE WINNERS). The Hollywood Foreign Press Association awarded Eddie Murphy of the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

The actor took the stage to collect the statuette also giving three pieces of advice for a successful career, including avoiding the name of the wife of Will Smith taking up the words spoken by the actor after the slap to Chris Rock at the last Academy Awards ceremony.

Great emotion for Eddie Murphy, six times nominated for a Golden Globe and winner in 2007 for Best Supporting Actor for Dreamgirls by Bill Condon. The actor took the stage at the 2023 Golden Globes to collect the Cecil B. DeMille Award: “I want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for giving me this prestigious award”.

The actor looked back on his long career in the world of cinema: “I’ve been in show business for forty-six years and in the film industry for forty-one, so it took a long time to get it and I appreciate it very much”.

After thanking his wife and some technical figures, Eddie Murphy, with his unmistakable style, gave three advice to emerging comedians for a successful career, also citing the highlight of the 2022 Academy Awards, or Will Smith’s slap to Chris Rock.

The actor took up the words spoken by the interpreter of Ali: “There is a specific path you can follow to achieve prosperity and peace of mind. Pay your taxes, mind your own business and don’t mention the name of Will Smith’s wife.”
