Google in the crosshairs of US justice for a monopoly on online advertising

Second federal antitrust lawsuit for abuse of dominant position

Google in the crosshairs of the US Department of Justice which filed a lawsuit second federal antitrust lawsuit against the web giant claiming that the company has abused its domain to exclude competitors in digital advertising. The lawsuit effectively aims to dismantle Google’s advertising business, forcing the company to divest from major advertising products.

The lawsuit claims the company engaged in a “systematic campaign” to gain control of the high-tech tools that publishers, advertisers and brokers use to buy and sell digital advertising.

“Having entered all facets of the digital advertising market, Google has used anti-competitive, exclusive and illegal means to eliminate or drastically reduce any threats to its domain on digital advertising technologies,” the provision reads.
