Gordon Ramsay began cooking in the 1980s: his first job was as a commis at the Roxburh House Hotel, in Roxburghshire, at the end of the decade. But what the famous chef did and restaurateur before entering the world of gastronomy? Well, not everyone would guess, being a field far from the culinary one.
Gordon was indeed a soccer player and was part of the youth teams of the Rangers and, at 12, he played in the under 14 of the Warwickshire. His football career, however, came to a halt in spite of himself. During training, Ramsey injured his knee but continued to play at first. Later, however, during a game of squash, a serious injury arrived, which caused him to rupture of the cruciate ligament of the same knee already affected. An injury that marked the end of his football interlude.
A background that not everyone knew, the one about the famous Scottish chef, who is the father of five children: from the marriage with Cayetana Elizabeth Hutcheson, celebrated in 1996, Megan was born in 1998, the twins Jack and Holly two years later, Matilda in 2001 and Oscar James in 2019.
