Government, Calenda: “I have a resume to be premier but Draghi is better”

“Before asking Draghi to intervene, we must meet. For five days I have been telling all the political leaders, let’s meet, let’s meet: there is a national energy emergency that is about to shut down companies, small and large and medium-sized and risks being a tsunami. Let’s sit down together ”.

Carlo Calenda said this in Catania talking to journalists on the sidelines of an electoral meeting. “It is useless – he adds – to ask Draghi to intervene, and I tell the friends of Forza Italia who have discouraged him. It would be much better to take responsibility and apologize to the Italians ”. “And this – Calenda points out – is valid for Berlusconi and Salvini and not for Conte who, deep down, is happy to have discouraged him. And I do not think there is room for an industrious repentance ”. Moreover, for Calenda “if a very contentious and conflicting right-wing coalition comes to the government, because we know that Salvini, Berlusconi and Meloni cannot be seen with completely different programs, Italians must expect a productive financial tsunami that will be the most big that we have lived in the last twenty years “. The Action leader then recalls how “they all have the ambition to be Prime Minister, they feel prepared. In my life I have worked in Ferrari, Sky, in London, at San Paolo, in Confindustria, I have been minister, vice minister, I have chaired two G7, I have been ambassador in Brussels and therefore I have the curriculum to do so but I say that Mario Draghi is much better. If you have Schumacher, don’t replace him with a third row driver, just to give an example… ”.

“These party leaders – concludes Calenda – have never left Italy and the international inexperience of right-wing leaders frightens me. It worries me that they are not very clear on how to move in Europe. This is very worrying ”. (by Francesco Bianco)
