Great success in Rome for the Italian Bocce Championships

The three traditional specialties of the bowling sport discipline, Raffa, Volo and Petanque, for a weekend in the same facility. It happened at the Federal Technical Center of Rome, where for the second time, after the success of the Italian Absolute Championships in 2019, the unified tricolors took place, an event sponsored by the Lazio Region and supported by the institutional sponsors Erreà and Perfetta. Ten titles were awarded: four by Raffa and by Volo, two by Petanque, all in category A. Two tricolor titles in Lombardy and Liguria, one in Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio and Campania. 300 athletes at the start of the ten Italian competitions. The race director was Davide Matteocci; match assistant Giuseppe Miceli, assisted by an arbitration body made up of 38 field judges.

To graduate Italian champions in Raffa were: Alfonso Nanni della Boville Marino in the Individual; Pietro Zovadelli and Mattia Visconti of Arcos Brescia Bocce in the Couple; Carmine La Marca, Gennaro Laudato and Luigi Coppola of Kennedy Nola in Terna; Eleonora Ceriani of San Pedrino Milano in the female individual. The new Italian champions of Flight are the 2021 World Champions (titles won in Alassio on October 16): Luigi Grattapaglia of BRB Ivrea (TO) and Caterina Venturini of Buttrio (UD) in the men’s and women’s precision shooting; Ivan Soligon from Marenese and Gaia Gamba from Lower Valle Pont-Saint Martin (AO) in the men’s and women’s Progressive Shooting.

In particular, the final of the men’s Progressive Shooting saw Soligon and Zoia, or the Under 23 World Couple, the title won in Martigues (France) last December. To get on the top step of the podium in the Petanque: Valentina Petulicchio of ABG Genova in the Individual and Monica Scalise of the GSP Ventimiglia in the women’s precision shooting.

We had already experienced it in 2019, then for the health emergency the Unified Absolute Italian Championships were not held, this year we had confirmation of the interest, including media, that arouses an event in which the athletes play, in the same location. by Raffa, Volo and Petanque, both men and women “.

“In 1980, at the end of a complicated process, the three traditional specialties were unified, but for four decades the union of Raffa, Volo and Petanque was only formal – continued De Sanctis-. We are going to work along the same lines, so that a political, mental and cultural unification of the three specialties is achieved. We must have the courage to take the path that will lead us into the future ”.
