Gruppo Cap is one of the signatories of the manifesto ‘Businesses for people and society’

The text was presented in Rome by the United Nations Global Compact Network Italy

Gruppo Cap, the green utility that manages the integrated water service of the metropolitan city of Milan, is one of the promoter signatories of the “Enterprises for People and Society” Manifesto. The text was presented in Rome by the Un Global Compact Network Italy – the local network of the United Nations Global Compact for the promotion of sustainable development and corporate sustainability, to which Cap has adhered since 2023.

By signing the Manifesto, Gruppo Cap undertakes to strengthen the role of the social dimension in its corporate strategies to generate long-term value also in the supply chain and in the communities in which it operates. The Manifesto is available here. The Manifesto was presented during “The Social Dimension: the commitment of companies for People and Prosperity”, the eighth edition of the Business & SDGS High-Level Meeting, the annual event promoted by the UN Global Compact Network Italy and dedicated to the Presidents and CEOs of the Italian companies adhering to the UN initiative.

As a public company, we believe it is essential to work to ensure a working environment in which everyone can feel welcomed and respected. We have adopted an ethical commitment that commits us in this sense not only within our company, but also with partners and stakeholders and we recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Women’s Council of Milan. By adhering to the ‘Business Manifesto for People and Society’ we intend to continue on the path taken, adding further concrete commitment towards all our collaborators”.

The United Nations Global Compact is a special initiative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations which has the mandate to guide and support the global business community in promoting the goals and values ​​of the United Nations through responsible business practices. With more than 20,000 companies and over 3,000 non-profit signatories based in 162 countries and 69 local networks, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world.

The United Nations Global Compact operates in Italy through the UN Global Compact Network Italy (Ungcn Italy), an organization established as a Foundation in 2013 after ten years of activity as an informal group. The Italian Network works above all to promote the UN Global Compact and its Ten Principles through institutional dialogue, the production of knowledge and the dissemination of good sustainability practices. It is also committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations for 2030. Over 600 Italian businesses and non-profit organizations participate in the UN Global Compact.
