How to take a screenshot on pc? In many cases it is useful to save the screen of your computer, so you have available the image corresponding to what is displayed on the monitor. The ways to do this are different, depending on whether you are using a Mac or a device with Windows installed

WINDOWS (Vista, Windows XP, Windows 8 and Windows 7) – To take a screenshot of the whole screen with a Windows PC, use the key PRINT (in some cases also called PrtScn or PrtScrn), located at the top of the keyboard, to the right of the keys with the commands f1, f2, f3, and so on

If you only need a screenshot of the active program, you need to press and hold the alt key and then press the Print key. To view the screenshot you can use either the program Microsoft Paint than another of graphics processing. To open Paint simply select Start, go to Programs, then to Accessories and finally to Paint

Open Paint, on blank page, going up Edit and then clicking Paste displays the screenshot. The image can then be saved by clicking on File and then on Save or Save as

WINDOWS 9 – With Windows 9 you have to press keys CTRL+PRINT. The entire screen will then become gray, including the Open menu. At this point you have to select Mode and then select the area of the screen you want to screenshot

WINDOWS 10 AND 11 – With Windows 10 and 11 the way to take a screenshot is to click the windows key (the one with the Microsoft symbol) together with Shift and the S key. The desktop will become dark and it will thus be possible to select the area in which to make the screen, which will be automatically copied to the clipboard

MAC – To take a screenshot of the entire screen on a mac computer (macOS X) press and hold Command-Shift-3 on the keyboard. The screen is thus created and saved in a file on the desktop. If, on the other hand, you want to take a screenshot of only part of the screen, the keys to press are Command-Shift-4. Now drag the crosshair pointer to select the area to capture. With the latest updates you have to click Shift-Command-5
