In St. Peter’s 1500 Pro Loco volunteers, Unpli president meets the Pope after the audience

The president of the Pro Loco National Union of Italy, Antonino La Spina, met Pope Francis to whom he handed over a bronze work celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of the foundation of Unpli (made by Lucan artists Antonio and Mario Saluzzi) and a nativity scene artisan of the Neapolitan tradition; the meeting was held at the end of the general audience held this morning in St. Peter’s Square.

The delivery was also attended by the president of the Unpli Regional Committee of the Marche, Marco Silla, representing the Pro Loco of the areas affected by natural disasters. More than 1,500 volunteers from the Pro Loco adhering to Unpli from all over Italy took part in the general audience. The participation is part of the initiatives promoted by Unpli on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the constitution which will culminate with the general assembly scheduled at the Ergife hotel in Rome, on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December.

The delegation was led by President La Spina, in the presence of numerous members of the council and national council as well as regional and provincial committees.
