Not all Italian artists fall under the SIAE umbrella, and therefore under the “ban” from social networks
Due to the lack of agreement with Siae, today Meta has removed the possibility of using songs by Italian artists who are part of the association’s repertoire. However, it is still possible to use Italian music to accompany Reels and Stories on Instagram and Facebook: with 26,000 representatives in Italy, Soundreef is a copyright association agency for online, radio and TV which over time has collected under his wing many artists who have thus left Siae. In this case, among the most famous are Laura Pausini, Fabio Rovazzi, Fabrizio Moro, Paola Turci, J-Ax, Gigi D’Alessio, Sfera Ebbasta, Marracash, Rkomi, Ultimo, Enrico Ruggeri, Pooh, Mario Venuti, Tedua. All the Italian artists who have signed with Soundreef are currently present on Instagram and Facebook, while Meta has stated that he is trying to reach an agreement with the SIAE to get all music back on social media. This is the comment of Mark Zuckerberg’s company: “We believe that it is a value for the entire music industry to allow people to share and connect on our platforms using the music they love. We have licensing agreements in over 150 countries around the world and we will continue to strive to reach an agreement with Siae that satisfies all parties”
