The match

Inter burst out of the blocks and came close to scoring in the 10th minute. Lautaro pounces on Dimarco’s cross, header and post. The Nerazzurri pressure is constant, Udinese have to cover themselves but don’t give up attacking when the chance presents itself. It’s Pereyra, in the 15th and 19th minutes, who has two chances: the midfielder doesn’t sink the shot, Inter doesn’t pay the price. The home team charged back in the 22nd minute with Thuram, who missed from an excellent position at the far post, and in the 25th minute with Calhanoglu, who missed the target.

The Juventus bunker collapses in the 35th minute due to the penalty that VAR awards to Inter, punishing the contact between Perez and Lautaro. Referee Di Bello doesn’t blow the whistle, the decision changes after the warning from above. Calhanoglu makes no mistake from the penalty spot, 1-0 in the 37th minute. The game changes face and Inter closes it before the break. In the 42nd minute Calhanoglu charges Dimarco, who hits the target with a left foot: 2-0. In the 44th minute Thuram’s hat-trick arrives: Mkhitaryan suggests, the attacker thanks and passes it into the net.

The second half, with the result on ice, is pure academy. Inter take their foot off the accelerator, Udinese have time and space to build and show their attacking phase. In the 69th minute Lucca scores, scoring after Sommer’s rebound: all in vain, offside. Before the curtain, glory also for Lautaro. The attacker breaks from midfield, arrives in the shooting area and strikes Silvestri with his left foot: 4-0, Inter at the top.
