As the hours passed, hopes of finding the Italian-Israelis alive after the Hamas attack on 7 October on the kibbutzim on the border with Gaza faded. The body of Liliach Le Havron has in fact been identified: the woman is dead. This was announced by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in a post on attack by Hamas. I renew my condolences to the children and family. Another day of mourning for Italy.”
She was the wife of Evitar Moshe Kipnis
Liliach Le Havron – as communicated by Tajani – was the wife of Evitar Moshe Kipnis, one of the three Italian-Israelis missing after the Hamas attack on 7 October and found dead days later. Her body was together with 107 other corpses at the Beeri kibbutz, where she was with her wife. Evitar Moshe Kipnis was identified among the victims based on DNA testing.
The third missing Italian also died
A few hours after the first, a second post from the foreign minister arrived. “Unfortunately Nir Forti has also passed away. He was the last of the 3 Italian-Israelis missing. I feel the pain of his parents, I had met them during their visit to Tel Aviv. Dying at 29, barbarically killed by terrorists, is profoundly unjust. I pray for you, young Nir”, the deputy prime minister wrote on ‘X’.
