In October, the number of employed people in Italy grew, increasing by 0.1% compared to the previous month, equal to an increase of 27 thousand units. Istat communicates this, adding that the employment rate rises to 61.8% (+0.1 points). On an annual basis the increase is 2.0% (+458 thousand units). The annual increase involves men, women and all age groups, with the exception of 35-49 year olds due to the negative demographic dynamics: the employment rate, which overall is increasing by 1.2 percentage points, also rises in this age group (+0.8 points) because the decrease in the number of employed 35-49 year olds is less marked than that of the corresponding overall population.
