A decree to speed up the sale of Ita Airways. According to executive sources, in this morning’s Council of Ministers, the Meloni government approved a Dpcm on the dossier concerning the national airline. It comes to replace the one adopted last March: the goal is to speed up the company’s transfer procedures in the interest of the carrier and its employees, after a troubled affair that has its roots in the long Alitalia crisis.

The Dpcm in summary

In summary, the Dpcm allows the entry of a partner with a non-majority stake, while according to the law approved last spring, the Mef should have sold the controlling stake in the company.

The business plan is essential

According to government sources, for the purposes of the sale, the business plan of the airline’s candidate buyer is of significant importance. The subjects who participated in the previous procedure remain confirmed and, as mentioned, at the same time the constraint for the Treasury not to transfer the majority is no longer valid. The Dpcm is now being examined by the Court of Auditors.
