The event will take place on October 25 during Round One, and will be streamed online on Twitch
IIDEA, the Italian video game industry association, has announced the nominations for the Italian Esports Awards (IEA), the award that celebrates the protagonists of the world of Esports and which will also be awarded this year during the awards ceremony that will take place at Round One, the first international business event dedicated to esports in Italy. Tuesday 25 October at 7pm it will be possible to connect to the Round One Twitch channel and follow the evening that will be experienced on the large stage of Sala Fucine inside OGR Torino with the conduct of Bryan Ronzani, radio speaker and presenter, and Virginia Gambatesa, aka Kafkanya, a content creator who ranges from Twitch broadcasts to film writing and dubbing studio. Face of the past edition of Twitch Dire Europeans with Gialappa’s, also presented the GameStop TV. The jury of the Italian Esports Awards, composed of Alessandro “Stermy” Avallone, Cecilia “Aithusa” Ciocchetti, Dimitri “Noodlez” Zografos, Francesco “Deugemo” Lombardo, Riccardo “Tropic” Lichene, Selene “Nancydrew” Mauretto and Simone “AKirA” Trimarchi , has selected five nominees for each of the eight competition categories this year including Best Italian Player, Competitive Team, Best Italian Organization, Best Italian Caster, Best Italian Event, Best Italian Commercial Activation, Best Italian Content Creator and Esports Game of the Year.
The Best Italian Player category sees David “Tonzilla” Tonizza, Edoardo “T3B” Treglia, Francesco “Obrun” Tagliaferro, Marco “Vengeur” Ragusa and Riccardo “Reynor” Romiti compete. The nominees for the Best Italian Competitive Team category are Atleta Esports, Exeed, Macko Esports, QLASH and Reply Totem. For the Best Italian Organization category, instead, Dsyre, Exeed, Samsung Morning Stars, QLASH and Reply Totem compete. The name of the winner for the Best Italian Caster will come out of a five composed of Filippo “Etrurian” Burresi, Marco Brandino, Roberto “Kenrhen” Prampolini, Roberto “slimo0” Zappia and Salvatore “Rakki” Lena, while for the Best Italian Event they compete instead eSerie A TIM, Gillette Bomber Cup, Italian Rocket Championship, PG Nationals League of Legends and PG Nationals Rainbow Six Siege. The finalists of the Best Italian Content Creator are Andrea “Mengu” Mengucci, Giorgio “Pow3R” Calandrelli, Thomas “Hal” Avallone, Nello “Hollywood” Nigro and Riccardo “Piz” Pizzinelli. Big names also vying to decree the Esports Game of the Year, which will be chosen from Counter Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legend, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League and VALORANT. For the Best Italian Commercial Activation category, the collaborations between Aruba and Morning Stars, Gucci and Faceit, Manpower Group and PLB, Riot Games, Dentsu Gaming and PG Esports were selected for the launch of the Netflix series Arcane and Treedom with ProGaming Italia for the project E-Park. Furthermore, through the Round One website, fans will be able to vote for one of the ten nominated titles to choose the one that, among the most broadcast games on Twitch in 2021 from the first 10,000 Italian-language channels sorted by hours watched, deserves to be elected best esports game of the year.
