Located 28 km from Lecce, Bear Tower it is part of the marvelous marinas of Melendugno (together with San Foca, Roca, Sant’Andrea and Torre Specchia). It owes its name to the coastal tower located on the rock near the sea, dating back to the sixteenth century. Its function was that of sighting of Turkish ships bound for Salento.
