An engaging atmosphere, for the audience at the stadium and at home, a show that accompanies the actual sporting event and, together with it, impacts on the emotional value that can be generated, amplifying its effects: for Italy – England, Tomorrow at the “Diego Armando Maradona” stadium in Naples, the FIGC will inaugurate a new approach to national team matches, in line with the evolution of sports entertainment. In a stadium that will be packed with Azzurri fans, before kick-off there will be a show never seen before in a football stadium, conceived for the FIGC by the Alphaomega Group Enrico Conforti, Alberto Cassone and Giovanni Cassone in collaboration with Canaid and with the light designer Pietro Toppi: an innovative technology will transform the “Maradona” athletics track into a real LED carpet on which multimedia contents will be proposed, together with laser projections on the field and videos that scroll on the maxi screen, accompanied by unique and original notes of the brand theme of the Italian national football team, “Azzurri”, composed and produced by Enrico Giaretta and Maurizio D’Aniello.
A show, between 20.30 and 20.38, which aims to strengthen the identity, passion and enthusiasm of the Azzurri fans, increasing their active participation in the stadium and also involving the supporters who will follow the national team from home, both through live images and through content that will then be shared on the Azzurri’s social platforms.
Another surprise will come when the national anthems are played: the Italian one, “Il canto degli italiani” will be sung by Gigi D’Alessio, with the participation of Clementino, while the English one, “God save the King” by Ellynora.
On an evening of official premieres, Oscar, the Azzurri’s mascot, will also make his debut on the pitch in the pre-match. The Maremma-Abruzzese shepherd puppy, born from a graphic project by the master Carlo Rambaldi, will be live for the first time among the fans of the Tribuna Family, for greetings and customary photos. Rambaldi’s creature wears the blue shirt and will accompany the national team’s home matches in all stadiums in Italy. Its name, Oscar, is a tribute to its creator who passed away in 2012, who in the notes attached to the sketch of the mascot described his image as ‘a typically Italian dog endowed with great courage, ability to decide and his story is intimately linked to the millennial history of our land and its people, suitable for representing the most beautiful sport in the world, the passions it arouses and the Italian spirit’. “By calling it that – says President Gravina, commenting on the choice of name – we wanted to honor a genius of Italian creativity like Rambaldi, this mascot is his fourth Oscar, after the three won for his mastery in the cinematographic field. As indeed the Blue shirt also deserves an Oscar, an extraordinary symbol of the excellence of Made in Italy in the world”.
After the show, the debut of the musical theme of the Azzurri and the Oscar mascot, after the hymns sung live by great artists linked to Naples, the kick-off at 20.45: it will be Italy – England again, a classic of international football , fourth direct confrontation in less than two years, since that July 2021 at Wembley, the first outing of the national team in the stadium today named after Diego Armando Maradona, the possibility for the Azzurri to breathe the warmth of the Neapolitan public after 10 years and an entire evening to live until the 90′.
