In 1991 he starred alongside Brandon Lee in the film Showdown in Little Tokyo, while in 1995 he joined Keanu Reeves in the science fiction film Johnny Mnemonic

Between the nineties and the 2000s, he took part in numerous films destined for the world of cinema and television, such as Blackjack or the miniseries of Giulio Base.

In 2010 he appears as a guest star in an episode of the Chuck series, in which he plays a criminal and utters the famous phrase of Ivan Drago: “I spiezzo in due” (“I must break you” in the original)

Also in 2010 in Sweden he presented the Melodifestivalen, a festival dedicated to Swedish music, alongside the Swedish Måns Zelmerlöw and actress Christine Meltzer

However, 2010 was also the year of Lundgren’s great return: he starred alongside Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Jet Li in the film The Mercenaries

The success of the film soon led to the sequel, The Mercenaries 2, in which Lundgren stars alongside Rourke, Statham and Li, joined by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins.

In 2018 he played King Nereus in Aquaman, a role he will also play in the sequel Aquaman and the Lost World, due out in 2023.

In 2018 he returned to play Ivan Drago in the Rocky spin-off centered on the son of Apollo Creed. In the meantime he has shot films in the role of director, including Castle Falls and is currently filming the documentary Dolph
