Jennifer Lawrence would gladly play again Katniss Everdeenthe protagonist of the four chapters of Hunger Games. “Oh my God, definitely!” she said in an interview with variety the winner of the Oscar award. “If Katniss ever comes back in my life, one hundred percent.” Meanwhile, Lawrence will return to the big screen with comedy Girlfriend for rent, directed by Gene Stupnitsky, where she plays an Uber driver hired by a wealthy couple (played by Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) to win and seduce their 19-year-old son (played by Andrew Barth Feldman) in order to get him out of his shell before to leave for college, in exchange for a car. The young actor, 21, recalled seeing Lawrence for the first time in the saga of Hunger Games when he was about 10 years old. “I read the books and then the movies came out and it was a phenomenon. I recently watched them just for fun and wrote to [Lawrence] When did it happen. Those movies are really good. That whole genre didn’t exist yet. We didn’t even know that kind of movie included such a huge and truthful and beautiful performance from Jen.”
AN EPIC SAGA
The four chapters of Hunger Games have lined up in the cast Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Woody Harrelson. The first, released in 2012, was directed by Gary Ross, while the next three by Francis Lawrence. Among the new projects of the franchise the prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Nightingale and the Serpentexpected in theaters on November 17, 2023will chronicle Coriolanus Snow’s rise to power as ruler of Panem and include interpreters like Viola Davis, Rachel Zegler, Tom BlythPeter Dinklage Jason Schwartzman and Hunter Schafer.
