Juve, goodbye Super League? From Spain, rumors of a step backwards

“Juventus could send a letter to Madrid and Barcelona in the next few days to communicate their withdrawal from the Superleague”

Juve says goodbye to the Superlega? From Spain there are rumors relating to the disengagement of the Juventus club in relation to the project started 2 years ago and which has always been opposed by UEFA. The Spanish program El Chiringuito predicts Juve’s step backwards: “From Italy they tell us that Juventus could send a letter to Madrid and Barcelona in the next few days to communicate their withdrawal from the Superleague,” says the program, usually very informed about the matters concerning Real Madrid. The project is currently only supported by Juve and the two Spanish clubs.

The idea of the Superlega, supported by the former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, was formalized in spring 2021 with an initiative by a group of companies that quickly dissolved. The English clubs initially involved immediately withdrew, as did Inter, Milan and Atletico Madrid. Juve remained tied to the project in a particularly complex period, characterized by sporting proceedings in Italy, with the penalty imposed by the FIGC Court of Appeal for the capital gains case and with the settlement for the so-called ‘salary maneuver’.
