After the closure ordered by the sports judge for the racist chants addressed by some supporters to Lukaku
The south curve of the Allianz Stadium will be open in the match that Juventus will play against Napoli on Sunday 23 April. The FIGC Court of Appeal upheld the Juventus club’s appeal against the disqualification of one round of the sector after the closure ordered by the sports judge for the racist chants directed by some supporters at Romelu Lukaku, Inter’s center forward, during the semifinal of first leg of the Italian Cup.
“The National Appeals Court – United Sections, chaired by Carmine Volpe, accepted the appeal presented by Juventus Fc against the sanction of the obligation to play a match with the Juventus Stadium sector called ‘Tribuna sud first ring’ without spectators, in relation to the semi-final first leg of the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Juventus-Inter, played on 4 April,” the FIGC said in a statement.
“In reformulation of the contested decision, the sanction imposed by the Sports Judge in relation to the “insulting chants and cries of racial discrimination against the footballer Romelu Lukaku” was annulled. Last April 14, the first section of the Sports Court of Appeal had suspended the provision by referring the cognizance of Juventus’ complaint to the United Sections”.
