Landslide Ischia, Meloni in CDM: “Proximity and solidarity”. Premier soon on the Island

From the premier “deep gratitude for the uninterrupted commitment of the forces involved in the relief”

With this morning’s council of ministers, the government gave an immediate response for Ischia by declaring a state of emergency and making an initial allocation of 2 million euros to deal with this terrible situation “. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni writes it on her social channels. “To the affected population – he writes – I renew my closeness and I express deep gratitude towards all the forces involved in the relief efforts, in particular the firefighters, who have been working in the mud since yesterday”.

For the prime minister, “now the priority is to let the rescuers and volunteers working in search of the missing to deal with” the damage and for the recovery of the road system, without disturbing or hindering their work.

As soon as conditions allow, the prime minister will visit the island of Ischia to express her solidarity in person. “Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will go to Ischia as soon as possible, but not before having a clear picture, even on the missing, otherwise it would be just a catwalk”, announced the Minister for the Sea, Nello Musumeci, at the end of the CDM.
