The landslide of the most impressive stone between the two spiers, which have been inseparable up to now, was probably caused by the recent bad weather. It is not clear when it happened, now only the Dona stands out
‘L’Omo e la Dona’, the pair of large vertical stones on the Little Dolomites no longer exists. In fact, the ‘Omo’ spire has collapsed, thus changing forever the most characteristic glimpse of Monte Plische, on the Carega mountain range. The landslide of the most impressive stone between the two spiers, which have been inseparable up to now, was probably caused by the recent bad weather.
To spread the news, with a post on his Instagram profile, was Gianluca Santagiuliana. The photo soon made the rounds of social media and was reposted on various pages and profiles, including that of the president of the Veneto regional council, Roberto Ciambetti: “Hello Omo: in Mount Plische, the Dona is left alone. The path 113 and the ascent from Gazza lose one of the two spiers, the more powerful, a classic and emblematic image of the Carega group: many of us have made that journey and today we too find ourselves a little more alone. think: it is the cycle of life”.
