With this success, Sarri’s team moves to 71 points in second place
There Lazio prevails 3-2 in the final, thanks to Milinkovic-Savic who scored twice, after allowing two goals to recover, in the last one at the Olimpico against already relegated Cremonese. With this success, Maurizio Sarri’s team moves to 71 points in second place with only one match left until the end of the championship.
Goals by Hysaj and Milinkovic Savic in the first half seemed to have paved the way for the Biancoceleste team which held the ball in hand by finding the right spaces and managing when needed. The advantage already arrived in the 4th minute with Immobile who invents a perfect pass for his teammate who slips into the area behind Ferrari and displaces Sarr. In the 37th minute Lazio doubled with Milinkovic Savic who took advantage of a cross from Pedro from the right, and anticipating Bianchetti with a soft touch with his right foot then beat Sarr again.
Cremonese didn’t give up and in the 54th minute they reopened the game: Valeri served Galdames who kicked with his right foot towards the far post. Provedel stretches but doesn’t get there for the 2-1. Four minutes later in the 58th minute Cremonese surprisingly equalized with an own goal from Lazzari: a cross from the right passed Ciofani and reached the defender who didn’t control and caused the ball to carom first onto the post and then into the goal, displacing Provedel. Lazio are not about to lose the challenge and pour forward, touching the new advantage with Immobile and Milinkovic, risk in the 88th minute on Pickel’s conclusion from distance, but in the final minute in the 89th minute they find the winning goal: from corner kick, Milinkovic finds the ball a stone’s throw from the unguarded goal and with his header he signs the brace that brings the Biancocelesti back to the 3-2 lead at the Olimpico. In the final, the Biancoceleste coach Maurizio Sarri was expelled for protests.
