Lega, Pontida starts with young people: a thousand expected from all over Italy

The coordinator of the League’s youth movement, Luca Toccalini: “They will be valued at the European Championships”

(from the correspondent Alice Bellincioni) – On the eve of the key demonstration on the Pontida meadow, with special guest Marine Le Pen, the League rally starts with young people, with the assembly ‘Free and identitarian, the generation that does not give up’. “There is great enthusiasm, because it is the first youth Pontida after four years”, says the coordinator of the League’s youth movement, Luca Toccalini, an hour before the start of the assembly, making it known that in the afternoon “a thousand kids will come from all over Italy. I believe it is an important sign of the sense of community that we have managed to create over these years as a movement.”

“For me – recalls Toccalini – this is the fifteenth Pontida and I feel the same emotions that I felt in the first Pontida at 17 years old, when we were at 4.5%. This is an event that no party does, in which you really breathe the sense of community and second family that the League manages to convey to you“.

All attention is focused on the next European elections. “We will launch electoral campaign messages from here for the future of our young people”, says Toccalini, ensuring that the lists will also pay particular attention to the ‘new generations’. “We have three incumbents at the moment in the European Parliament who will speak from the stage today: they are Isabella Tovaglieri, Susanna Ceccardi and Maria Veronica Rossi. We will bet on our horses and they will absolutely be renominated, plus maybe there will be someone new in other constituencies. Matteo (Salvini, ed.) has never denied us the possibility of being valued and pushed by the party.”
