Off we go Blue Discovery Linea journey into the world of Italian fishingbroadcast on Rai 1 And Rai Italy on Saturdays at 2.00 pm. The program was born from the collaboration between Rai, TVCom and Federpescawith the contribution of Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry – within the three-year national fisheries and aquaculture program of the Directorate General of Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture. The program aims to tell the general public about the world of Italian fishing.

The Director of Federpesca, Francesca Biondo, explained that fishing is “a sector that is trying to face with dignity, in the best possible way, the increasingly complex challenges facing it and which deserves to be known for what it really is, telling citizens about the difficulties and beauties of this profession thanks to which every day, the best fish products arrive on the tables of Italians”.

“Linea Blu Discovery – said the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida – is a very important program because it delves into the culture of the sea. Through evocative images and the testimonies of those who experience the sea, it tells a whole world and its history, giving space to those who not only draw sustenance from the sea itself but with their role become its precious custodians”.

The program unfolds in four episodes with a journey to discover some of the most famous marinas in our country: Mazara del Vallo, Riposto, Molfetta, Termoli, Chioggia, Ancona, Fiumicino and Castiglione della Pescaia. Federpesca anticipated that “in each of these locations we will meet the fishermen, we will follow them in their work, to show the public the great richness of our seas and the different fishing techniques. We will talk about their traditions, their projects for protecting the environment , the territories, we will taste the typical dishes of their cuisine and we will follow the entire supply chain that makes our fish a true Italian excellence”.

The program is hosted by Fabio Gallo with the participation of Giulia Capocchi and they will be guided on their journey by the men and women of Federpesca, the National Federation of Fishing Companies which, since 1961, represents and protects shipowners and Italian fishing companies .
