The Chilean band Los Bunkers has returned to the music scene after a hiatus of almost a decade with the “Ven Aquí” tour, which began with two historic shows at the Santa Laura-Universidad SEK Stadium. With more than 70,000 spectators at both events, the band has made Chilean music history.
The band’s 31-song setlist included hits like ‘Miño’, ‘Llueve sobre la ciudad’, ‘Bailando solo’, ‘Canción para mañana’, ‘Ahora que nos estás’, as well as an acoustic set with songs from their early days. like ‘El Detenido’, ‘La Exiliada del Sur’, ‘If you are thinking badly of me’. In addition, they surprised fans with the live premiere of their new song, ‘Rey’, which was presented along with its video clip.
Following these shows, Los Bunkers will perform at the Vive Latino Festival in Mexico as headliners on March 19. They will also have two more concerts in Chile, on March 25 in Concepción and on March 27 in Viña del Mar.
The band’s new single, ‘Rey’, is a reflection of social and mental changes, and how the new generations have the right and duty to be true to themselves, without following old conventions or ties. The theme is characterized by its sound loaded with synthesizers, which is more modern than its musical DNA.
The video clip for ‘Rey’ was directed by the Chilean filmmaker Cami Grandi and was recorded in the Cultural Park (Ex Cárcel) of Valparaíso, in Chile. The band considers that the video clip is a perfect image to accompany the song that reflects its brighter and more colorful side.
After almost a decade of absence, Los Bunkers have returned to be a living legend of Chilean music and redefine the sound of Latin American rock in the 21st century.
