What will the new season tell about Lupine
The third season is called by the streamer Lupine Part 3. The reason Netflix doesn’t call the series simply Lupine 3 could be to not confuse it with Lupine IIIthe famous manga series centered on the character of the same name, Arsenio Lupine III, created in 1967 by the mangaka Monkey Punch, freely inspired by the character of Arsenio Lupine created by Maurice Leblanc.
But what will we see in this third part of the show? We will find Assane in hiding, forced to live away from his wife and son. He plans to abandon France to start from scratch in another part of the world, however the ghosts of the past keep him anchored to his country. Furthermore, an unexpected return will upset his life and his plans, keeping him anchored in Paris.
Recall that the TV series is inspired by the adventures of Arsenio Lupine, traced by the gentleman thief Assane Diop who imitates the deeds of his literary favorite to avenge his father for an injustice suffered at the hands of a rich family.
A success that from France was exported all over the world
Lupine is a French television series that premiered on Netflix in January 2021. The series is based on the character of Arsene Lupine, the famous gentleman thief created by the French writer Maurice Leblanc. This is a contemporary version of Lupine, with the protagonist, Assane Diop, played by Omar Sy who is inspired by the mythical thief born from the pen of Leblanc.
Diop, an expert thief and master of disguise, looks to Arsene Lupin’s methods and charisma. Assane wants to avenge his father, Babakar, a Senegalese immigrant who was unjustly accused of theft and who, out of dishonor and desperation, took his own life in prison. His son Assane is a big fan of Lupine’s books and therefore it will be natural for him to use the tactics and strategies described in the stories to carry out his blows.
The story takes place between Paris and other French locations, with the protagonist intent on pulling off daring coups in order to unmask the injustice that ruined the life of his father and, consequently, of his entire family.
Much of the success of the series is due to the incredible talent of Omar Sy, a French actor of Senegalese origin known for his performance in films such as Almost friends – Intouchables (2011) and JUrassic World (2015). In the role of Assane Diop, Sy surpasses himself, mixing charisma, humor and drama in a truly masterful way.
In addition to him, as the main ingredients of the recipe’s success Lupine the many elements of suspense, action and mystery should not be underestimated.
