“Dream is basic income to free everyone from money slavery, eradicate poverty in our world!”. This is the text printed on the t-shirt displayed by the M5s guarantor, present in the capital where the meeting with Conte is scheduled. “I believe there are no visions in the Democratic Party. Schlein? A cultured person but he doesn’t leave his mark,” he said
Beppe Grillo, founder of the M5s, present today in Rome at the party headquarters, displayed a yellow t-shirt on universal income, looking out from the balcony of the Movement’s headquarters and, ironically, shouting to reporters: “Italians!”. “Dream is basic income to free everyone from money slavery, eradicate poverty in our world!” (The dream is a basic income to free everyone from the slavery of money, eradicate poverty in our world!): this is the text printed on the t-shirt displayed by Grillo.
The meeting with Giuseppe Conte
Grillo then stopped to answer some questions from the reporters. “Advice to parliamentarians? But what advice? I don’t give any advice. They are now old politicians. They are the ones who advise me what I shouldn’t say”, said the M5s guarantor, who arrived in the capital to meet some parliamentarians. Grillo, according to what we learn, will meet the party leader, Giuseppe Conte, tomorrow. Precisely with Conte “it is a moment of great harmony because I feel him more emotionally involved. He comes from another world, an academic one, different from the 5 Star Movement of the street, of Vaffa. We perhaps needed to go beyond that line a little” , said Grillo. Conte, he continued, “is starting to be more practical and less visionary, being a lawyer and more cultured than me. I don’t have organizational skills. I can have an idea but maybe it’s unrealizable”. Then here is the confirmation from the former prime minister: “Grillo in Rome today? “We spoke and we’ll see each other before he leaves, of course we’ll see each other, we spoke”.
“PD, a party that has no vision”
“I believe there are no visions in the Democratic Party. I have absolutely not seen any”, Grillo then commented as he left the M5S headquarters and recalled that at the birth of the Movement he had brought the issues that were priorities for him to the Democratic Party. “I wanted to speak at the PD conference and they didn’t allow me. From there they made a mistake, from Prodi, “he reported. As for the hypothesis of a wide field on the left, he replied:” There are no fields if you don’t have a little imagination. The field is open to anyone with a bit of imagination.” Finally, on alliances, he explained: “We made alliances, left and right, and we were either stabbed in the back or other things happened.”
“Schlein is a cultured person but he leaves no impression on me”
“I have no judgements. I’ve heard from her, she’s a cultured person, and then she doesn’t leave much of an after-effect on me. But all politicians are like that.” This, finally, is Beppe Grillo’s opinion on the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein.
