A constant and continuous growth, a maturation that rightfully places her in the group of artists ready for something big. And I’m not talking about age, but about artistic preparation. To be able to express itself to increasingly larger audiences, ready to welcome it in the best possible way. Madame al Forum, a desire that has become an iron reality. Yes, we are talking about “will” and not dreams, because from day one it was understood that this artist would create something beautiful, strong, important, and in a short time. And so it was. On Saturday 21 October, in one of the temples of Italian music, Francesca took to the stage with pride and courage, but also with that curiosity that has always characterized her. On stage she transforms and becomes a tiger. A bit like Jayson Tatum, one of the most interesting talents in American basketball, a point of reference for the Boston Celtics. Yes, Madame reminds me a lot of this player: introverted off the pitch, not particularly talkative but who, as soon as he enters the match, makes everyone understand that there is none for anyone. Jayson Tatum plays in the NBA, one of the strongest and most competitive leagues. Madame, from this Forum, has started playing in another championship, that of the adults.
The impactful start
A beginning that will never be forgotten: Madame goes on stage and starts singing Instinct, with a group of dancers who integrate perfectly into the scene, without ever taking space away from Francesca. It’s a riot of colors, lasers, plays of flames and heat and images on the LEDs, so much so that this live show is breathtaking from the first moment. Madame has full command of the stage, which she is not afraid of, on the contrary: it is all hers. There is certainly a lot of emotion, but you can’t feel it: the singer-songwriter knows how to transform it into energy, which passes to the audience. “How many of you are under 18 this evening? How many are minors? You still haven’t understood what a mess you’ve gotten yourself into!”, Francesca says, hinting at a small smile, before starting to sing again.
Twenty-five songs in the setlist
Francesca gets involved and wins. With her first successes, she reminds everyone that her talent is there, and has always been there, since the very first day of this journey that will surely take her far. Her concert is a perfect union of the first steps, but also of the more recent ones: in the twenty-five songs in the setlist there is also room for Anna And Trickssongs from the beginning, but also for The good in the bad And Avatarspresent in the singer-songwriter’s latest album, The love, published on 31 March 2023. There are two stages on which Madame’s concert takes place, the artistic direction of which was entrusted to Jacopo Ricci, who took care of the People tour with Ombra, as lighting designer. And from one of these, in the center of the Forum, Madame rises into the sky, almost flying while she sings Avatars: “Close your eyes and surrender / Feel your body rise / Take flight”, says the lyrics and, literally, the singer-songwriter rises into the sky. It is one of the many moments of the concert in which you can feel the power of this artist who expresses through voice and soul, and which is also accompanied in some songs by the delicate dance of Giulia Stabile: a perfect combination, never excessive.
Blanco, Fabri Fibra and Matilde
A concert also enriched by the presence of Blanco, who sings with Madame Everybody dies and by Fabri Fibra for Chaos And My friend. There’s not much to add about these moments: they are a rather explosive cocktail. Blanco is one of the most promising artists of recent years, Fabri is already a piece of history: Madame integrates perfectly with both, which underlines all the nuances that this artist has and knows how to express, even with other songwriters. Shortly after it’s time to Milagro, dedicated to Matilde, Francesca’s best friend, on stage with her. Behind them flow images of moments spent together, which underline the indissoluble bond that unites them.
Madame as Jayson Tatum
Before blasting everyone with Tide And Tekno Poke, Madame tells the audience: “This is my last piece… I’m only 21 and I still have many records to make.” A wish and a promise, which will surely happen soon. The concert ends with a party of music and dance. With all the people who collaborated in the creation of this live show, preview of Madame’s indoor tour. Well done (as always) Luca Faraone, artistic director of this first Forum. The dancers were amazing, as were the musicians who accompanied Madame (Dalida, the drummer: an added value).
Madame is like Jayson Tatum: young, talented, strong. Tatum is just missing the NBA title. To Madame only the stadiums. But it’s only a matter of time.
