Fresh from the success of the first European dates in Germany, Switzerland, Turkey and France, with a tribute also to Burt Bacharach, Mario Biondi his version of the classic “My Favorite Things”, a special dedication for his nine children: “I fell in love with this song by looking at the scene from the musical “The Sound of Music”, from which it is taken, reflecting above all on the words spoken by Julia Andrews before starting to sing: “When something upsets me and I feel sad, I try to think of beautiful things”. And I immediately thought of my children, of the purity of simplicity and contact, of how precious it is to be surrounded by people that we love. I live in the passionate desire to enjoy the many beautiful joys that life has given me, my children and Love. This song is for them”, comments Biondi. After being brought to popularity by the musical “The Sound of Music” – known in Italy with the title “Tutti together passionately” – “My Favorite Things” soon became a jazz standard above all thanks to the famous version of the saxophonist John Coltrane who made it his workhorse in the early sixties. Among the sung versions, that of Al Jarreau, an artist very dear to Biondi, stands out. This new song is an anticipation of the new record project with an exquisitely crooner flavor to be released in early autumn.
