Was Man accused of killing five people in Texas arrested after day-long manhunt, including a nine-year-old boy. Cnn reports it, specifying that the main suspect in the massacre, Francisco Oropesa, was found in a house a few miles from his home in Cleveland, a town in Texas, where the murders took place.

Oropesa – who is of Mexican nationality – was “caught hiding in a closet,” San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers told reporters at a news conference. The suspect, he added, will be held for five murders on $5 million bail.

The five victims, as explained by the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, were “illegal immigrants” from Honduras and were killed by a neighbor, also “in the country illegally”, angry because he had been asked to stop shoot in his garden. The controversy over Abbott’s claims has also invested the Cleveland police, since family members who survived the massacre – there were at least 16 people in the house when Oropeza started shooting – said they called 911 at least “five or six times” without getting help.
