Massacres, Terracina: “I am threatened for the research on Lodo Moro”

The revelation of the Jewish researcher at the conference ‘Milan, Brescia, Bologna: what historical truth about the massacres’: “They told me. ‘Remember that you have a son'”

” I hope there will be more flexibility on the approach to documents because I assure you that it is very, very complicated to work in the archives. In order to get out the documents concerning the attack on the Synagogue of Rome, I also received threats. But the job of a researcher or a historian is to move forward. Of course it is a great effort. I feel the lack of a research body that is also supportive. University is not always enough ”. This was stated by the researcher Giordana Terracina speaking at the conference ‘Milan, Brescia, Bologna: what historical truth about the massacres’, promoted by the periodical Realtà Nuova, which was held in the conference room of the National Alliance Foundation in Rome. To moderate the meeting, which saw introductory greetings from the president of the An Giuseppe Valentino Foundation and from Senator Domenico Gramazio, director of the Realtà Nuova newspaper, the director of Adnkronos Gian Marco Chiocci.

” They told me not to be interested in the issue of the award and kindly reminded me that I have a son and that I would have done well to take care of something else, ” Terracina explained about the threats. And then, prompted by Chiocci, she added: “I was born as a researcher of the Shoah, I worked on the foundation of the Shoah in Rome, I took care of exhibitions and I searched for documents to set up exhibitions. I began to get interested in the question: I studied the origins of Arab nationalism and pan-Islamism linked to the figure of the Grand Mufti ‘of Jerusalem and from there, thread by thread, I arrived at Arab nationalism in modern times “. Thus the researcher stumbled upon the Moro award, or those clandestine agreements that Italy would have made in the 1970s with the main architects of Middle Eastern terrorism, on the basis of which they would have refrained from attacks against our country in exchange for freedom. of movement and the possibility of carrying weapons, a topic that she also dealt with together with the researcher Gabriele Paradisi.

The lawyer Valerio Cutonilli, author with Judge Rosario Prior of ‘The secrets of Bologna’, the essay who first hypothesized the crime story of an 86th victim of the station attack, referred to the Moro award. Cutonilli recalled that “ there is a police phonogram, which, 22 or 23 days earlier, raised an alarm on a possible attack by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which is certainly not a proof but which curiously – he said – it does not arrive in the files of the Bolognese investigation. We will only find out three decades later. ”

” I have the phonogram of the Bologna police commissioner dated 2 August, with the rubble of the station still smoking, with a peaceful admission of the absence of evidence that allowed this terrible attack to be assigned to a political area … And yet – he observed – the commissioner, writing to all his parigrades of the Italian police stations, asks to investigate all and only the far-right organizations. They are investigative choices that have no logic and are explained only by a politically assumed a priori choice and aimed at seeking a truth that is painless ”, he then added.

Danilo Coppe, an expert in the recent trial against Gilberto Cavallini (later convicted as the fourth executor), explained that “the question that was put to me by the Court of Assizes of Bologna was not only related to establishing the nature of the explosives used at the station but also to find correlations with the other massacres and therefore I had access to the documents concerning the entire period of the years of lead. Together with Colonel Gregori del Racis we agreed that indeed almost all the technical reports of those years were strongly vitiated by errors. The idea that we have made is that there is no common thread in the methodology of constituting the bombs and then we wondered why in some cases there was apple juice and it was reported that it was pear juice … the aspect of misdirection but in reality we have found more macroscopic errors of method. There is no common thread in the typology of explosives ”.

” Some things are completely ignored – said the expert – such as the findings that came from Bologna, where the quantities of explosives were half, and therefore it was possible to carry baggage even by a woman. Or that the famous Maria Fresu wasn’t the real Maria Fresu. In short, there were many elements that I expected to have a greater influence, but this was not ”. Still on the subject of explosives, the writer Francesco Rovella stressed that “it would be enough to look at the provenance of the explosive to understand many things. As Falcone used to say, follow the money I say: follow the explosive”.

From the journalist Andrea Colombo, historic signature of the Manifesto and author, among other things, of “Black History”, on the Bologna massacre, came the request to “declassify the Giovannone archives”, the former head of SISMI in Beirut, in whose papers there would be important revelations on the Moro award. On the massacres and the years of lead, in public opinion, “a lying narrative has replaced the actual truth” and today, “only a large movement of opinion could ask for the truth about Bologna”, underlined Colombo, explaining how, however , on this front, thanks to ideology and some errors even on the right, “a huge step backwards compared to the 90s” was made, when many intellectuals, including leftists, fought to shed light on the massacre of 2 August 1980 .

“Rossana Rossanda was the first to ask the truth about Bologna”, recalled Colombo, who never believed in the guilt of Mambro and Fioravanti. “It is the search for a historical truth that must now be pursued – he added – … so much so that anyone who really committed the massacre goes to jail at the age of 90, nobody cares”. Instead, it is necessary to point out that “the whole story of the massacres was told according to a flawed narrative, which starts from the idea that there is a continuity … the same hand or matrix. And this should be demystified”, because “if you get a completely false version of the past you cannot deal with the present, much less with the future “.

The director of the Riformista Piero Sansonetti took care of bringing the debate back to the present day. placed in the days immediately preceding the deceased founder of National Avant-garde Stefano Delle Chiaie, underlined: ” The service that was defined as a misdirection by the Caltanissetta prosecutor was broadcast by Rai and no one was indignant. What did the supervisory board say? Nobody has dealt with it, the newspapers have not dealt with it, it is a sensational case. Do we want to ask for a repair transmission? ”, Sansonetti’s proposal.
