Salvemini: “We believe in the circular economy”
“Through the organization of these machines that we install in the city thanks to the Coripet agreement, in the Anci – Conai ambit, we help and simplify the citizens in separating waste and reusing it”. The said it mayor of Lecce, Carlo Salvemini, on the sidelines of the inauguration of one of the five eco-compactors for PET recycling installed in the city. By downloading the Coripet consortium app, citizens will be able to place plastic waste in eco-compactors and for each bottle they will accumulate points which become discounts and benefits in affiliated shops and win prizes.
“Put waste in PET in this machine allows you to acquire a reward that can be used in the circuit of affiliated shops thus further helping our system to be virtuous”, added Salvemini who considers eco-compactors “a lever that complements the articulated strategy put in the field of the municipal administration in the last 6-7 years and which has allowed us to be able to pass from 38 to 70% of differentiated waste collection: it is a result that we consider very important but not a definitive goal”.
The mayor promises that “we undertake to do more and better not only to diligently fulfill the objectives and targets set by European regulations but because we believe in the value of the circular economy, in differentiation, recovery and reuse”.
