”Russia is engaged in a sacred struggle to protect its sovereignty and security against hegemonic forces”. This was stated by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Vostochny cosmodrome in Amur, in the Russian Far East. ”We will always support the decisions of President Putin and the Russian leadership, and we will together in the fight against imperialism” he added, underlining that “North Korea claims it intends to ‘continue to develop relations” with Moscow.

”The Soviet Union played a very important role in the liberation of our country,” Kim continued, stating that ”our friendship has deep roots and now relations with the Russian Federation are the first priority for our country. I am sure that our meeting will be the next step in taking relations to a new level”.

“Relations with Russia are ”our first priority”. ”I appreciate the invitation” received from Putin, added Kim, stating that his visit takes place ”in a very important period”. ”I have confidence that the meeting will take our relations to a new level,” Kim added.
