Meghan Markle doesn’t go to the Golden Globes and skips the Suits reunion, her colleagues: “We don’t have her number”

On the red carpet of Beverly Hills the reunion of the protagonists of the TV series, without Prince Harry’s wife

Meghan Markle is the big absentee at the 2024 Golden Globes. Last night, on the red carpet of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, which saw the reunion of the protagonists of Suits, Prince Harry’s wife was missing. The reason? “We don’t have her number … and so she will see us here”, Gina Torres, present at the event together with Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, the other actors of the series.

Meghan Markle starred in Suits until season 8, but her character, Rachel Zane, was eliminated from the show after the actress’s marriage to Prince Harry. The series aired on cable on the USA Network channel from June 23, 2011 to September 25, 2019 for nine seasons and was then relaunched last year by Netflix, giving it a new wave of popularity. Also for this reason, the Duchess of Sussex’s absence was felt more than ever.

Confirming that some of her former co-stars have been “texting each other,” Torres (Jessica Pearson, in the series) explained that Meghan isn’t in the group chat because “we don’t have her number.” It would therefore not have been possible to reach her to invite her to go to the prize. However, Torres expressed hope that the Duchess would still find out about the reunion. “She’ll see us,” she added, “and she’ll be happy we’re here.”

Last November, Meghan Markle spoke exclusively to Variety about the recent popularity of the series, which has surpassed 45 billion minutes of streaming on Netflix and Peacock combined. “Isn’t that crazy?”, she commented during the Power of Women event. “It was great to work on, with a great cast and crew. We had so much fun. But it’s hard to find a show you can watch so many episodes of these days. Good shows are eternal.”
