Destinations (Multiculturalism, Earth, Territory, Education) in partnership with the CISS Ong (South-South International Cooperation) was admitted to the XIX Action Week Against Racism promoted with Public Notice by UNAR – Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Department for Equal Opportunities, Office for the promotion of equal treatment and the removal of discrimination based on race or ethnic origin with the Project: “Democracy. Global Actions and Respect for the Person”. The Week will be from 20 to 26 March 2023. “An Agenda full of socio-educational initiatives and cultural and artistic activities related to dance. In presence and online, in public, scholastic, cultural and social gathering spaces, we involve people belonging to different peoples to discuss the concept of “Democracy”, addressing aspects related to respect for the person and global actions aimed at protecting civil coexistence in each Village. We will also address the use of words, the impressive growth of Fake News and the incitement to online racial hatred”, declares the President of Mete Onlus Giorgia Butera. La Butera returned to Sicily a few days ago, having been a Delegate to the 52nd Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. La Butera intervened at Point 2 of the General Discussion, and in a Conference, during which the victims of the Cutro Shipwreck were remembered.
During the Week organized by Destinations in collaboration with Ciss, personalities belonging to different peoples were invited to intervene, focusing on intercultural and democratic union. We will have with us: Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Iran, Nigeria, Italy and Ghana.
