The former Lebanese porn star, Mia Khalifa, has come under fire for some pro-Hamas posts. In recent days, the historic magazine Playboy has decided to end its collaboration with the actress, a naturalized American, for what are defined as “disgusting and reprehensible” comments to celebrate the Hamas attacks in Israel and “the killing of men, women and innocent children”. “At Playboy – the note reads – we encourage freedom of expression and constructive political debate, but we have no tolerance for hate speech.” For this reason, the company decided not only to eliminate the page dedicated to the former porn star on its site, but also to cancel a podcast that was in the works. The post and the controversy
Last October 7, on the very day of the Hamas bombings of Israel, Mia Khalifa wrote a controversial post on X (where she is followed by 5.7 million followers) in which she praised the “freedom fighters in Palestine” inviting them to “turn your smartphones to film horizontally”. Her words which obviously sparked a welter of controversy, up to the decision of a Canadian radio station to terminate the contract with the Lebanese for the “horrendous tweet”. “It’s simply disgusting, beyond disgusting, wrote the host of the program who urged the porn celebrity to “evolve and become a better human being.” The former porn star has been absent from X for a week now, but today she was photographed on the streets of Miami, where she lives, as she heads to a bar to have a coffee, obviously without making any statements.
