An unusual couple sits on the bed: Michel Houellebecq, in blue pajamas, and a girl with long blond hair, in a lilac slip, laugh before indulging in passionate kisses between the sheets. Thus ends the trailer Of KIRAC 27the avant-garde red light short film made by the popular French writer for the Dutch artists collective KIRAC (acronym of Keeping It Real Art Critics), which will be presented on March 11 in Amsterdam. There provocation was born from the Christmas exchange of emails between the founder of the collective and the director Stefan Ruitenbeek, disheartened by the birth of his second child, and the famous author, forced by threats of kidnapping by Islamic extremists to give up his honeymoon in Morocco in the company of his young wife Qianyum Lysis Li and, above all, the “prostitute ring” she hired a month in advance to fulfill her husband’s wishes. “Everything went awry” recites the voiceover after accompanying the bare belly of a pregnant woman, the face of the exhausted and happy mother holding the bloody newborn in her arms, the fixed gaze of Houellebecq and the sad eyes of his wife. However, the head of KIRAC lifts his friend’s morale, because many girls in Amsterdam would sleep with the famous writer “out of curiosity” and he could organize the hotel, as long as you film the events in a cinematic atmosphere of Scandinavian memory, inspired by the style of Ruben Ostlund And Lars von Trier.
KIRAC’S PROVOCATIONS
The KIRAC collective, founded in 2016, fights against woke culture, the #MeToo movement, political correctness and the superficiality and venality of contemporary art through provocative acts. In 2021 a girl from the collective, Jini van Roojenrecruited the Dutch right-wing conservative intellectual in an online ad Sid Lukkassen, promising to offer sex while the cameras are on “to overcome the right/left polarization thanks to porn”. The project, called honeypot, however, did not go well: during the meeting in a house by the sea, Lukkassen stopped undressing in embarrassment and withdrew permission to show the images. However, KIRAC showed them all the same in a big evening which also hosted the controversial Julian Andewegan artist denounced by about twenty women and currently under investigation for rape, stalking and harassment.
