In my opinion it is wonderful that this year Fendi, just the evening before the official start of the Milanese event, shows in Florence, effectively opening what is then the week of the fashion shows. So it’s a great Fashion Week that starts with the beautiful Pitti fair and then continues with the great fashion shows in Milan.
These are the words of the President of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana Carlo Capasa during our interview on the occasion of the press conference for the next edition of Milan Fashion Week Men’s Collection Spring/Summer 2024.
In fact, from 16 to 20 June Milan hosts a fashion week which has already begun on 12 June in Florence. “The message we want to send”, continues Capasa, “that’s what men’s fashion has at home in Italy.”
72 appointments for 5 days of men’s fashion
72 appointments on the calendar: 22 physical fashion shows and 5 digital fashion shows, 30 presentations, 4 presentations by appointment, and 11 events. It starts on Friday at 14.00 with the Valentino fashion show and concludes with Zegna on Monday 19 June.
Tuesday will instead be dedicated to the digital content presented on the CNMI platform.
In the midst of the big names in fashion, from Giorgio Armani to Gucci, from Dolce & Gabbana to Brunello Cucinelli.
Runway debut for Andersson Bell, while Maccapani, Maison Laponte, Marcello Pipitone – Bonola, Mcm, Setchu and Skin of Nature will present their collections for the first time within the CNMI calendar.
Important returns then for the Neil Barrett brand, which will return to the catwalk, and for Ralph Lauren Purple Label between the presentations.
Numbers of men’s fashion above expectations
“Sector Numbers”, comments Carlo Capasa, “they make us look at Milan Fashion Week with optimism con a 14% growth in turnover in the first two months of 2023, compared to the first two months of last year. Thanks to our brands, to the young designers who choose to present during our Fashion Week and thanks to the collaboration with ICE and the Municipality, Milan continues to strengthen its role as an international fashion capital.”
Fashion and Milan, a fundamental link for all related industries
“The Milan Fashion Week Men’s Collection in June, together with the other key fashion events in the city, confirms Milan’s strong link with this sector”, he says the councilor for Economic Development, with delegations to Fashion and Design, Alessia Cappello.“A unique, innovative and productive bond that makes our city an exceptional stage for creativity, ability and know-how. We know it well, behind the glamor and innovation of the fashion shows there is an artisan manufacturing reality of the highest quality and excellence, an important production chain for the economic fabric of our city and our country.”
Ninth edition of FFFMilano
In conjunction with the Milan Fashion Week Men’s Collection, the Milan Fashion Film Festival (FFFMilano), an international fashion and culture event founded and directed by Constanza Etro, returns from 12 to 19 June. Made in collaboration with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, the FFFMilano, now in its ninth edition, represents an excellent tool and an excellent opportunity to enhance the exposure of Made in Italy abroad in an international context contemporary, digital and avant-garde.
Furthermore, FFFMilano once again acts as a bridge between different cultures, also addressing the issue of diversity and inclusion.
To celebrate the ninth edition, FFFMilano is launching two new projects: a real free streaming platform open to all from 12 to 19 June, with a selection of 270 fashion films. And then the entrance to the Metaverse. In fact, FFFMilano becomes the first fashion film festival to arrive in the Metaverse from 12 to 19 June.
