Milan stock exchange today, Piazza Affari cautious before Fed decisions

The main European Stock Exchanges closed the day with data slightly above parity, Piazza Affari, despite a rising opening, instead closed the session with a loss of -0.12% at 26,523 points. A caution due to the expectation for today’s main event, i.e. the Fed meeting with the indications on monetary policy which led to a 25 basis point increase in interest rates, in line with what the market expected .

The spread between BTPs and German Bunds stands at 185 basis points with a ten-year bond yield of 4.2%.

The excellent performances of Iveco (+3.98%) and Leonardo (+1.71%) stand out on the main list of Piazza Affari. The aerospace company announced that it has obtained new orders from the Middle East, Asia, America and Europe for a total value of approximately 470 million euros.

Excluding Fineco Bank which closed at +0.82%, bank shares showed a fluctuating trend which led to reductions in Banco Bpm (-2.66%) and Bper Banca (-1.43%). A2A was also down, losing 2.05% at the end of the session. Excellent performance by Gvs which closes at +13.66% after the release of the 2022 balance sheet data. Positive data also for Emak (7.1%), Aeffe (6.32%), Rizzoli Mediagroup (6.07%) and Mondo TV which, after yesterday’s collapse (-50%) and an excessive fall in the morning, closed the session with +5.9%.

On the other hand, little interest from the market for Telecom Italia, which closes in perfect parity after the announcement of an agreement with the unions for 2,000 voluntary exits using the instrument of isopension. (in collaboration with Money.it).
