Mobile telephony, this is how much the regions spend

The report prepared for Adnkronos by the Administrative Journal Foundation of the Italian Republic

Lombardy, Puglia and Calabria are the most ‘virtuous’ Italian regions in the mobile phone spending. Three Regions that are awarded the overall AAA rating in the special ranking drawn up for Adnkronos by the Fondazione Gazzetta Administrative della Repubblica Italiana, as part of the ‘Pythagoras’ project, which examines the costs incurred in 2021 by Regions (TABLE) and capital cities of Province (TABLE). In particular, for this cost item, in 2021 Lombardy spent 81,645.90 euros, Puglia 12,207.86 and Calabria 13,265.45.

Also ‘promoted’ for spending on mobile telephony, with an overall rating from A to AA, are Basilicata, Liguria and Lazio which, with an amount respectively of 12,207.30, 28,360.13 and 60,109.32 euros, are awarded the double AA, and then, with the single A, Abruzzo (33,762.32), Marche (50,790.48) and Campania (169,451.35).

The Regions with ‘intermediate’ performances include: with BBB, Molise (10,426.44 euros); with BB Veneto (241,557.70) and Sicily (273,262.53); with B Emilia-Romagna (352,199.82). While the data of Trentino Alto Adige, Sardinia, Valle d’Aosta, Friuli Venezia Giulia are not comparable for this item.

A UMBRIA AND PIEDMONT RATING C – Umbria and Piedmont are the least efficient Regions in the costs incurred for mobile telephony. They are the only two to receive the ‘C’, the worst rating assigned by the special classification (UMBRIA TABLE).

Specifically, for this item, in 2021 Umbria spent 163,094.18 euros. A figure that has multiplied compared to 2020, when it stopped at 28,872.07 euros, and in any case higher than in 2018 (100,518.83) and 2019 (132,304.21).

As for Piedmont, in 2021 it spent 627,002.74 euros on mobile phones. A higher amount than in the previous three years: it was 574,768.68 in 2018, 555,950.01 in 2019, 503,814.75 in 2020.

IN PIEDMONT RECORD EXPENDITURE – Piedmont is the Italian region that, in absolute value, holds the record for expenses incurred for mobile telephony: 627,002.74 euros in 2021, a figure that leads it to have the worst rating, C. This is what emerges from the report (PIEDMONT TABLE).

Immediately after Piedmont, among the Regions with the highest amounts of expenditure for this item, exceeding 100 thousand euros, the following stand out, in order: Emilia-Romagna (352,199.82), Sicily (273,262.53), Veneto (241,557. 70), Tuscany (226,339.26), Campania (169,451.35), Umbria (163,094.18), Friuli Venezia Giulia (143,635.58).

IN TRENTINO SOUTH TYROL RATING AA – Trentino Alto Adige is the Italian Region which, in absolute values, has the lowest expenditure incurred for mobile telephony: 3,715.08 euros in 2021.

Among the Regions that spend the least on this item, always in absolute values, with an amount of less than 20,000 euros, we find: Molise (10,426.44), Basilicata (12,207.30), Puglia (12,207.86), Calabria (13,265. 45), Sardinia (14,641.85).

12 CAPITALS PROMOTED WITH AAA RATINGS – Twelve Italian provincial capitals ‘promoted’ with triple AAA in the management of expenditure for mobile telephony (TABLE).

The most ‘virtuous’ for this cost item of the institution, thus obtaining the maximum rating, are Arezzo, which spent only 695.00 euros, followed by Isernia with 995.25, and then: Agrigento (1,301.37) , Rieti (1,423.93), Viterbo (1,447.02), Massa (1,628.34), Imperia (3,170.99), Taranto (5,533.66), Parma (6,402.57), Naples (6,518.39), Reggio Calabria (10,000.00), Rome (19,920.00).

The group of cities that are among the most virtuous for this expenditure item is even larger, obtaining the double AA (TABLE): Catania, La Spezia, Padua, Nuoro, Fermo, Belluno, Asti, Cuneo, Caserta, Piacenza, Andria, Gorizia, Brindisi, Verona, Crotone, Bari, Terni, Alessandria, Potenza, Pordenone, Catanzaro. But also the group that won the A (TABLE): Aosta, Cosenza, Rovigo, Sondrio, Pistoia, Modena, Ancona, Siena, Como, Reggio Emilia, Savona, Vercelli, Forlì, Salerno, Verbania, Ferrara, Turin, Mantua , Syracuse.

C RATING FOR 8 CAPITALS – Florence, Barletta, Bergamo, Enna, Ravenna, Genoa, Pisa and Sassari are the eight least ‘efficient’ provincial capitals in terms of mobile telephony expenses. So much so that it deserves the C rating, the lowest in the special classification (TABLE).

But how much are the expenses incurred for this item in these entities in 2021? Analyzing the ranking, it turns out that Genoa spent a good 493,491.02 euros, followed by Florence with 230,620.62, Sassari with 212,284.85, and Ravenna with 130,234.40. Then, remotely: Bergamo (78,346.22), Pisa (77,860.41), Barletta (57,031.83), Enna (22,103.28).

The following obtain an intermediate rating in the ranking: Vibo Valentia, Oristano, Bolzano, Campobasso, Cesena, Trieste, Lecce, Venice, Carbonia and Cagliari, which gets B (TABLE); Macerata, Avellino, Foggia, Bologna, Brescia, Trapani, Livorno, Varese, Biella, Udine, Rimini and Pesaro, with BB (TABLE); Urbino, Trento, Treviso, Lecco, Monza, Pavia, Milan, Teramo, Grosseto, Trani, Pescara, Cremona, which receive the BBB (TABLE). The data of Ascoli Piceno, Benevento, Caltanissetta, Chieti, Frosinone, L’Aquila, Latina, Lodi, Lucca, Matera, Messina, Novara, Palermo, Perugia, Prato, Ragusa and Vicenza are not comparable (TABLE).

GENOA RECORD CAPITAL – Genoa is the provincial capital which, in absolute values, has the highest spending on mobile telephony, reaching the record figure of 493,491.02 euros in 2021, so much so that it deserves the C rating.

After Genoa, among the cities with the highest expenses for this item, exceeding 100,000 euros, follow in the standings, at a distance: Milan (341,464.74), Florence (230,620.62), Sassari (212,284.85), Turin ( 156,933.83), Venice (135,591.62), Ravenna (130,234.40) and Bologna (119,878.46).

AREZZO THRINABLE CAPITAL – Arezzo is the most ‘thrifty’ provincial capital in terms of mobile phone spending, an item to which it allocated only 695.00 euros in 2021.

To keep spending low for this item, below 2,000 euros, after Arezzo, we find, in order: Isernia (995.25), Agrigento (1,301.37), Rieti (1,423.93), Viterbo (1,447. 02) and Mass (1,628.34).
