Evening – event at the Casa Argentina in Rome, in the historic Via Veneto. Tomorrow great music and cinema are scheduled and dedicated to the great composer Rodolfo Zanni, known as the Argentine Mozart, of Italian origins and mysteriously disappeared at the age of 26. An event that falls exactly on the same day, and at the same time, as the last concert that the musician held at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, one hundred years ago. A great symphonic concert directed at the age of 20 in honor of the President of the Argentine Republic Marcelo-Torcuato de Alvear with the charming wife Regina Pacini.

After this triumph something happens and the much acclaimed artist is removed, canceled, reduced to anonymity. He dies under mysterious circumstances. His body, first buried in deconsecrated ground and then exhumed, is made to disappear. With the exception of four minor pieces, the 81 compositions attributed to him also disappear.

Hence the research of the relative Giuseppe Zanni, deus ex machina of the rediscovery of this musical genius, and also promoter of the event. “A name lost in the shadows of oblivion – explains Zanni – a forgotten musical talent, ignored even by the most attentive musicologists despite having illuminated Argentina in the early twentieth century with his art. Rodolfo Angelo Deo Zanni is thus returned to the history of music through intense, complicated investigations that lasted years, across different continents (Buenos Aires, Paris, Texas and Italy) and conducted under my guidance by some teams of investigators “.

The film dedicated to the master will be screened, entitled ‘Enigma in tempo rubato. An Argentine Mozart ‘, by director Francesco Cordio

“The tools for rediscovery have been a book and ultimately a documentary film – he adds – The musical world is now in turmoil and eager to rediscover at least a part of his works, erased by a ferocious damnatio memories and vanished into thin air, for the which his contemporaries had so praised him “.

And in the mystery of this rediscovery, the film dedicated to the master will be screened, entitled ‘Enigma in tempo rubato.
