Elon Musk launches ‘Grok’, ‘his’ artificial intelligence that aims to dethrone ChatGpt. Grok was developed by artificial intelligence start-up xAI and was unveiled today. The tool will begin to work for a “selected group” of users of the social network As soon as xAI releases the beta version, Musk explained, “the Grok system will be available to all X Premium+ subscribers” at a price of $16 per month.

“Grok has real-time access to information via the X platform, which is a huge advantage over other models,” Musk explained.

The Musk-led start-up has recruited former employees from DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tesla and the University of Toronto. The direction is entrusted to Dan Hendrycks, director of the Center for AI Safety, a non-profit research organization on artificial intelligence that collaborates with OpenAi, the company that launched ChaGpt, abandoned in 2018 after disagreements with other partners, Sam Altman and Ilya Sutskever. Musk resigned from OpenAI’s board of directors in 2018.
