“I realize it was wrong behavior, I didn’t really think about it at that moment”
Radja Nainggolan has been suspended indefinitely by Antwerp for smoking on the bench. It happened before the last match of the Belgian championship against Standard Liège: the frame captured from the pre-match leaves no doubt about the former Roma, Inter and Cagliari – a few days ago stopped by the Antwerp Police for driving without a valid license – this time pinched and surrounded by a cloud of smoke as he sat next to teammates. The club’s decision was made official through a statement on its website: “We had a conversation with Nainggolan about how certain behaviors affect the club itself and the group and we decided to suspend Radja from team A indefinitely.”
Nainggolan then posted an apology message on his Instagram stories: “I am very sorry for what I did. I realize it was wrong behavior, I didn’t really think about it at the time. The club made a decision that I didn’t. I can only accept, even if I think it is a bit too heavy. I will still try to give my contribution in one way or another “.
