A new Board of Directors, a new company structure, but it does not change, on the contrary Cobat’s commitment to work closely with the country’s leading technological companies to make them protagonists of the circular economy is strengthened. The shareholders’ meeting of Cobat Spa Società Benefit, which met on 15 December in Milan, re-elected Giancarlo Morandi as president of the company. Stefano Giovannini has been appointed managing director, while the new Board of Directors is made up of Francesco Anglani, Cosimo Cafagna, Maria Domenica Ciardo, Nicola Colucci, Giovanni Grazzini, Roberto Maggio, Federico Malgarini, Flavio Raimondo and Maurizio Zanini.
The composition of the Board of Auditors remains unchanged, with Maurizio Paternò (president), Roberto Canesi and Oliviero Perni. The renewed Cobat Board of Directors, which met for the first time in Rome on December 16, comes after joining the shareholder structure of Innovatec Spa, an integrated and diversified Italian group, leader in the CleanTech industry, or Clean Technology, the sector which includes all the services and technologies useful for reducing the impact of production processes. Innovatec, a company listed on the Euronext Growth Milan market, today holds 56.45% of the share capital. The current members are therefore Innovatec, Fiamm, Monbat, Gs Yuasa, Vipiemme, Samauto, Skg, Kon.El.Co, SIA and the associations of artisans Confartigianato, Cna, Casartigiani and CLAAI
“The new Cobat Board of Directors – declared the president Giancarlo Morandi – reflects the new challenges that society faces. Heir to a history of over thirty years, what was once the Compulsory Consortium for exhausted batteries has faced with resilience the changes in regulations and the market and has become a Spa capable of innovating through the circular economy. Now our goal is to offer all Italian companies integrated services that are increasingly competitive and sustainable, environmentally, economically and socially.“.
“But Cobat is much more – added President Morandi – through the supply chain consortia Cobat Ripa, Cobat Raee and Cobat Tire, it is able to respond efficiently and effectively to the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility, supporting producers and importers of technological goods in a path of legality and sustainability. We are confident that in the future we will be able to apply our model, which has led Italy to excel in battery recycling, to any other type of product, as demonstrated by the new Cobat Compositi consortium, dedicated to fiberglass materials, for example those of wind turbines”.
