Italy, Nigeria. Europe, Africa. Two continents. One destiny. This was the theme addressed during the event organized by the Med – Or che Foundation, which was held in Rome at the Luiss Guido Carli. A conference dedicated to relations between Italy and Niger and between Europe and Africa which was attended by the President of the Republic of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum, and with him the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto, the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, the Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini and the President of the Med-Or Foundation Marco Minniti.
The event, the result of the excellent relations established between Med-Or and the Republic of Niger, in fact follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Foundation and the Presidency of the Republic of Niger for the promotion of cultural and educational initiatives and is part in the broader commitment of the Foundation aimed at strengthening relations with a country of crucial importance for Italy, located in the heart of an African region, the Sahel, today more than ever at the center of world attention.
The Sahel, explains the Med-Or Foundation, in fact represents a strategic area not only for the security of the enlarged Mediterranean and for Africa, but for the entire planet. It is therefore essential that Italy and Niger can continue the process of strengthening their mutual cooperation, also to face the most significant challenges of our time, which are at the heart of the future of relations between Africa and Europe.
